We can provide you with a comprehensive eye exam to check for glasses, and most importantly to ensure that the eyes are healthy. Eye exams can also detect other health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and stroke.
We have a state of the art facility and the most up to date equipment available to ensure you are getting the best care possible.
It is recommended everyone have their eyes tested yearly, even if you feel you are seeing well. Some eye diseases have no symptoms, and it is possible to have 20/20 vision and have an eye disease you are not aware of. We can often detect the early signs of disease during a routine exam. Early detection is very important, as blindness is often preventable.
Children should start having their eyes tested by age 4 at the latest. However, you should bring them in earlier if you feel they may have a problem.
We can examine kids of any age, even infants. Preschoolers are tested using a picture chart, so they don't have to know their letters to be examined. Certain conditions may be untreatable if diagnosed after the age of 5. Children and parents are often unaware of problems, as there can sometimes be no signs or symptoms.
Yearly eye exams are covered with OHIP for children until they are 20 years of age.
